How do I put like a caption or textbox when you hover over a link in description? Like when you hover over it, text appears in like a box.

Hi, would you like them to be sort of like hers? I’ve been trying to see if anyone’s put up codes for this/tutorials but I haven’t found any yet. Since I don’t know what people call this exactly, it’s hard to google it :(

If you want to make your links similar to vanityocean’s, I’ll keep on looking for codes/tutorials to help you. I’ll make a post or edit this one if I end up finding something today (I probably won’t keep looking longer than today unless you message me again).

You’re trying to use “Read More” when making a text post, right? I’m pretty sure that the option isn’t even available when you’re making any other type of post or sending asks/replying to asks.

That’s what the button should look like (it’s pointed out by the arrow)!  You’re sure that that button isn’t there? Just message me again if you’re making a text post and the button still isn’t showing up for you :)

Woah. The whole slide down header/topbar/whatever you want to call it is pretty complicated, so figuring out how to take the code for it from the Laretruce theme and put into yours won’t be easy. It probably won’t take just copying and pasting one part of the Laretruce theme’s code into your theme!

If you still want to do it, I’ll give it a shot and try to help you out :) I’ll need to have/see your theme code though so we can figure out how to change your theme. If you message me where to find your theme code I can see if I can get this to work for you! It would help if you would come off anon, too.

Oh, this is a really hard question! I guess I’ll just tell you a little of what I think, since there’s obviously a ton different answers to this :)

It’s really hard to describe Tumblr to people, because so many different people use Tumblr in so many different ways. Some people share their own writing and art, while others might just reblog nice pictures and posts they can relate to from other blogs that they like.

Most of us feel that Tumblr’s a lot more personal than other social media sites, because people feel free to say what they want and how they really feel about things here since the people they know in “real life” aren’t around to judge them. So, Tumblr’s more of a special and private thing. Yeah, people do share their blogs with people they see every day, but normally not many. Most importantly, it’s nice to be around people who you don’t know on Tumblr, because you end up finding and meeting new people you share interests with through their blogs here.
